VISION STATEMENT
Health Services Academy will provide a nurturing, student-centered college preparatory environment in which all students will develop academic skills, advanced technical skills, leadership qualities, and self-advocacy that allow for their successful transition into college, careers, and adulthood.
BELIEFS
AS A LEARNING COMMUNITY, WE BELIEVE:
- a safe and encouraging school setting is essential to the learning process;
- students, parents, teachers and faculty share the responsibility of ensuring the success of the school’s vision by creating a support system for all learners;
- positive personal growth is developed by increasing self-esteem, cultural awareness, and respect among students and school faculty;
- classroom instruction and assessment should reflect a student’s learning style;
- high expectations will provide students with future academic and personal success;
- students will participate in a health professions career program that will enable them to move into higher education and the work force;
- students will become problem solvers and information managers through a hands-on, experiential education program;
- a healthy student participates in physical exercise and strives for nutritional, physical and emotional well-being;
- students will require excellent communication skills, current technology skills, as well as proficiency in accessing and analyzing information and resources;
- all students, parents, teachers and faculty should treat others with dignity and respect as well as solve differences democratically.
