Girls Build LA

We wanted to let you know about an exciting new initiative (including grant funding) that is launching in September in partnership with the LA County Board of Supervisors, Metro, Bad Robot, Boeing and others. Girls Build LA empowers girls in schools across Los Angeles to highlight the challenges they face and provide them with resources to design and implement solutions that effect widespread change in their communities.

Girls Build LA launches with a special screening of "He Named Me Malala" at LA Live for 7,000 high school girls across Los Angeles. This event will be followed by the awarding of a year long grant and stipend for 50 teams of middle and high school girls to design and implement solutions to issues they face in their schools and communities. Throughout the month of October, which will be designated Girl Empowerment Month, we are also partnering with organizations to host visits for girls to learn about careers across a number of fields. See the attached flyer for additional details.

To learn more, register for the screening, and apply to participate in the challenge
